All 2026 Crosstrek gas trims come standard with the legendary direct-injection 2.5L 4-cylinder SUBARU BOXER® engine. Delivering up to 180 HP and 178 lb-ft of torque, also featuring Dual Active Valve Control. Combining to increase efficiency, improved acceleration and heightened driver engagement. The standard Lineartronic® CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) further reduces emissions using the SI-DRIVE® engine management system, with eco-friendly Intelligent (I) and more responsive Sport (S) mode.

What's New for 2026?

It's a "real" hybrid! Unlike the previous plug-in model, the 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid features a next-generation Subaru series-parallel hybrid system that recharges it's battery while you drive. The new system combines a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER® with electric motors, resulting in a combined output of 194 horsepower. This advanced Subaru technology gives you a total range of up to 965 kilometres per tank* so you get longer road trips, expeditions, and adventures of all kinds. Plus, you never need to plug in to charge, so you can just get in and head out.
